Layout Rooms This is the floor plan for the layout with dimensions for each room. The bench work is drawn in and locations for the towns are noted. Track plan is coming soon. The roadbed for the high line is visible . Hallway showing lift out section. I am planning to make this hinged so that it folds up on the right hand side. Upper deck on the left is Eagle Pass. Lower deck on the left is the location for the H.E. + H.U. Delter Smelter Works. Across the lift-out is Furlow Flats. Dead Mule is at the far end on the right. Here’s a shot of the middle room looking through to the hallway. Where you see the temporary shelf will be the town of Vail Junction. Named for Jim Vail, not the ski town in Colorado. Middle room view from the hallway. Imagine mountains from about waist height to the ceiling here. The hole in the backdrop is where the high line enters the room from the upper deck in the workshop. A cliff side town called Sheberville will be built here. Also in this shot is a section from Jim Vail’s layout. This is Crested Butte. I was planning to use this on the opposite side of this room as the town of Vail Junction. Unfortunately, I can’t make it fit properly. I have a friend who can use it for a new section of his layout, so, thankfully, it’s off to Texas to be restored and reused. Workshop room showing upper and lower decks. The roadbed rising on the lower level to the left will eventually wrap around over the workbench to be the yard and engine servicing facilities.
